Miia Hirvonen
Miia Hirvonen has over twenty years of experience in handling extensive and complex civil and criminal matters, preventing disputes, and managing conflicts. She represents and advises clients before general courts, administrative courts, the market court, in arbitration proceedings, and in internal investigations.
Miia has deep expertise in public office law and employment law, as well as in liability issues concerning executives and specialists. She has extensive experience in public office–related mandates and regularly advises public bodies in matters concerning appointments to public office, assignments to positions, remuneration issues, discrimination claims, and processes involving the termination of a public service relationship, administrative sanctions, and misconduct in office.
Miia also advises clients in shareholder agreement disputes, matters relating to tort and insurance law, unfair business practices, and disputes arising from corporate transactions. She frequently represents companies, board members, senior management, and employees in assignments involving economic and environmental offences, trade secret crimes, occupational safety offences, and offences in public office.
She has strong expertise in financial sector regulation, compliance matters, risk management, and corporate responsibility.
In addition to her work as an attorney, Miia has served as the Head of Legal and Trademark Department of an intellectual property services company and as a member of its management team, with responsibility for the company’s legal affairs.
Miia is approved for the Finnish Bar Association’s list of mediators and serves as a member of the Association’s expert group on civil procedure and professional committee.
She advises clients and handles proceedings in both Finnish and English.
